My Dad’s Flooring was founded in 1984 by father and son team of George and Ed Graefe. George was a manufactures representative for one of the largest carpet companies at the time. When Ed graduated from Drexel University George and Ed decided to start a small carpet store in the back of the garage.
Initially sales where primarily to friends and family. During one of those early sales a potential customers asked Ed what type of carpet he was selling. Ed was new and he did not know how to answer this simple question and simply responded with it is “My Dad’s Carpets.” Thus the origin of name, which later transitioned to My Dad’s Flooring as the product selection expanded to include all flooring.
Today My Dad’s Flooring has the area’s largest selection with over 5,000 sq. ft. of product on display, experienced well trained sales people and several installers who have been with us 20 or more years.
George passed a few years ago and Ed has since been managing the business with the help of the many long time employees.
My Dad’s is currently beginning the transition to our third generation with the addition of Ed’s son in law (Jay) who will be helping to lead the company into the future.
Our motto is “Making Quality Affordable” which is exactly what we have done for over 35 years and expect to do for the next 35. We would love to work with you on your next project.
